OVERVIEW:

In this first session we will look at how most people put together their drawings in 2D using AutoCAD with the use of CAD Standards (such as Layers, Annotation Styles), Model and Paper Space, and all of the AutoCAD Drawing, Construction and Modifying Tools.

We will then look at BIM (Building Information Modelling) and where industry is heading with this tool. Attendees will get to see the Revit environment as they watch a basic house being modelled in 3D using Revit.

They will see what a true Parametric 3D modelling package can really offer them, they will see how quickly they can create a house with real walls, doors, and windows. They will see the ease of how the roof is created saving so much time.

I have been involved in Engineering/Architecture for over 40 years and in the CAD Industry for over 35 years, and have used numerous BIM/CAD products including many Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Raster Design, Inventor, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D etc.), Microstation, QikDraw, TurboCAD, CivilCAD, InRoads, 4D (now 12D) SolidWorks, etc. I have written numerous CAD based books, training manuals, and have been a Contributing Editor for Australia's leading CAD magazines, CAD User and MultiCAD.

Through these organizations I have also presented numerous CAD seminars throughout Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia on a wide variety of CAD topics. I have worked directly with both Autodesk and Bentley on numerous 1 day seminars, and short presentations on numerous CAD topics. As well as with numerous BIM/CAD dealerships in various roles. I have managed many BIM/CAD sites throughout Australia using a variety of BIM/CAD products, and trained many users through my own BIM/CAD Consulting company, as well as through the number of BIM/CAD dealers I have worked with
