OVERVIEW:

Hobart & Launceston Sessions
Join us for an eye-opening networking breakfast where industry expert Wayne Gorman will tackle a critical question: Is there a widening disconnect between 'as-drawn' projects and 'as-built' reality?
Drawing from numerous on-site inspections, Wayne will share real-world examples revealing how construction methods—appearing sound on paper and compliant with the NCC—can lead to unexpected challenges during actual construction. This practical presentation will equip you with valuable insights to help bridge the gap between design intent and built outcomes.

SPEAKER:

About Wayne Gorman

Wayne Gorman brings 40 years of building and construction experience to this presentation. Starting as a crane driver and rigger, Wayne has worked across industrial, commercial and residential sectors before specialising in building inspection and energy efficiency assessment in Tasmania.

Following an industrial accident, Wayne refocused his career on energy efficiency and compliance inspections. He has assessed buildings ranging from heritage structures dating to 1837 to major facilities like Hobart's Derwent Entertainment Centre. Wayne also delivered national training for the NatHERS software programs during the scheme's expansion in 2006.
