For professionals working within a practice or independently.

Preferred by Energy Efficiency Assessors (EEAs), with accreditation and funding applied per individual.

Graduate Membership

$12.00 per month

For recent graduates working in design or energy assessment who have completed a recognised qualification, including:

  • Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural)
  • Advanced Diploma of Interior Design
  • CPP41119 Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

Valid for up to three years from course completion.

Interior Designer


Our Interior Designer member base is continuing to grow and consists of an incredible group of professionals that specialise in spatial planning, drawing initial floor plans right through to creating final decorative layouts.
They work closely with Registered Building Designers and Architects to achieve the desired look for their clients across residential, offices, hotels and any other interior spaces.

We provide ongoing trade webinars and seminars, manufacturing site visits and many opportunities to network with other professionals within the Built Design industry.

Our team works closely with government to support and advocate for Interior Design to ensure the industry remains respected, fair and regulated.
We also work closely with educational institutions and provide students of Interior Design membership at no cost.

Recognised Members

Fellow

A Member that has provided significant service to the Association and/or to the industry may be nominated to become a Fellow of the Organisation. The annual fee paid by Fellows is equivalent to the Full Member fee.

Life Member

A Fellow of Design Matters National may be considered as a Life Member if he or she has held continuous membership of Design Matters National for at least fifteen years and has made a significant contribution to the Association and/or to the advancement of the building design profession. The annual fee paid by Life Members is equivalent to the Full Member fee.

Honorary Members

A person who has made a significant contribution to the Association and/or to the advancement of the profession of building design, may be admitted as an Honorary Member at the invitation of the Association. There is no annual fee payable by Honorary Members.

Retired Member

A Retired Member has reached the age of retirement and ceased to work in a design practice by relinquishing their registration with the Building Practitioners Board. The annual fee paid by Retired Members is equivalent to one-tenth of the Full Member fee.
