This presentation aims to explain the structure, the capabilities, the advantages as well as the limitations of the Chenath engine. The presentation will cover the areas including slab heat transfer, air infiltration, air flow model, thermal comfort, thermostat setting and natural ventilation, the weather files as well as briefing on recent improvements and future developments.
Dr. Dong Chen Principal Research Scientist CSIRO Energy
Dong joined the building ventilation team in CSIRO Building, Construction and Engineering in 1999. His research interests focus on the physical and numerical modelling of building thermal performance and energy efficiency. Dong currently leads the further development of AccuRate and the Chenath engine. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee for NatHERS.
