Building Sustainably with Timber

Building Sustainably with Timber
Being a natural carbon sink and renewable, timber – if sustainably sourced – is undoubtedly one of the most environmentally-friendly building materials currently available. With a global shift towards environmentally-focused sustainable designs, more and more specifiers are turning towards timber as a building material for its sustainability, aesthetic qualities, ease of transport and speed of construction. John’s presentation will examine the reasons for and benefits of using sustainable construction products. He’ll also unpack third-party sustainability certificate organisations and 'greenwashing'; the carbon cycle and the benefits of timber; and compare how timber cladding rates against other materials, and the difference between environmental product declaration (EPD) vs life cycle analysis (LCA).
