Position Description
Development Manager of The Cape – South Melbourne office location Part time (3 days/week) | $100,,000 p.a. (pro rata of $150,00 FTE) plus 12% superannuation Lead one of Australia's leading sustainable communities through to a successful final chapter. The Cape at Cape Paterson, on Victoria's Bass Coast, is entering the final stage of its development. With more than 200 lots already sold and the estate's open space, wetlands, roads and landscape complete, we are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead the project through to a successful close out. Reporting directly to the Directors and supported by an established sales, marketing and onsite landscape team, you will oversee the commercial, sales and delivery strategy for the remaining 26 residential lots, a house-and-land programme delivered with our builder partners, and the completion of the Community Farmhouse, within a three year timeframe. About the role ? Lead project completion, managing consultants, authorities and remaining approvals ? Drive land sales and revenue, working closely with the sales and marketing team on pricing and buyer enquiry ? Oversee the house-and-land programme delivered with established builder partners ? Manage project budgets, cashflow, settlements and profitability ? Coordinate marketing and communications to generate qualified purchaser enquiries ? Maintain strong relationships with the Owners Corporation and other key stakeholders ? Champion The Cape's sustainability leadership across net zero housing, passive solar design, renewable energy, Water Sensitive Urban Design and biodiversity About you ? A degree in Property, Construction Management, Engineering, Planning or a related discipline ? A minimum of seven years' experience in residential property development ? Strong commercial, financial and project management capability ? Proven experience managing consultants, contractors and stakeholder relationships ? Excellent communication and negotiation skills ? Experience delivering residential communities or house-and-land projects, an understanding of Victorian planning processes and a genuine passion for sustainability, are highly regarded The offer This is a hands-on, commercially focused role suited to an experienced property development professional ready to lead a landmark sustainable community through to completion. The position is three days per week: two days with the team in South Melbourne, one day working from home, with a fortnightly site visit to The Cape.
