Bruny Island Design Tour
Friday 6 February 2026 10am - 6pm
Pickup / Dropoff Point: Brickworks Design Studio
7-9 Franklin Wharf
Hobart TAS 7000
Members: $80
Non-Members: $140
OVERVIEW:
Step away from the pace of the city and spend a day immersed in the quiet inspiration of Bruny Island—a place of extraordinary, unspoilt natural beauty and thoughtful, site-responsive architecture.
This guided day trip from Hobart is designed for members who value meaningful connection with place, design and each other. Travel together by bus and ferry, relax into the rhythm of the island, and explore a small number of privately owned homes that reflect Bruny’s unique landscape and architectural sensibility.
First, we'll meet TZCC 2024 winners architect
Uta Green, from Green Design, and EEA
Rebecca Boyle from Aspire Sustainability, and visit the Adventure Bay home they collaboratively designed; then, after,
Hugh Maguire from Maguire + Devine will take us inside Bruny Island Hideaway, an off-grid cabin with a highly crafted minimalist design, in Alonnah. Also, if we have time we'll also drop in to visit a hempcrete home to look at hempcrete construction.

Places are limited to 15 people. Register early to secure your seat and join us for a memorable day of design, landscape and conversation. There may be walking required (approx. 800m) on this tour so please wear appropriate footwear.
